Qualifications and Accreditations

Enhanced DBS check

BEng Tidy Builders' owner, manage and director, Keith, has a recent fully-clean Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service, formerly CRB (Criminal Records Bureau)).

This gives you, the client, peace of mind that he is honest and trustworthy, with no criminal convictions. This is especially important since we will often spend a weeks or even months in your home, around your property, children and pets. We always strive to ensure that any tradespeople in your property are honest, trustworthy, caring and respectful.

City & Guilds Qualified

Whilst most of the necessary trade skills are learnt on site rather than a classroom, we believe it is still vital that all unsupervised operatives are fully qualified with the accompanying theoretical knowledge to ensure that all building tasks are correctly processed and completed.

Gas Safe

We don't take chances when it comes to gas works, and nor should you. Always ensure that anyone carrying out work on gas boilers, cookers and hobs have the appropriate Gas Safe certification.

Electrical Accreditation: Part P, 17th Edition (soon to be updated to 18th Edition)

Along with gas works, electrical installations are governed by law, since incompetence in these cases can have devastating effects. We always use electrical installers that are experienced and qualified to certify their own work as safe and compliant with the current regulations.

BIKBBI Membership: British Institute of Kitchen, Bathroom and Bedroom Installers

In partnership with Wren Kitchens, BIKBBI have ensured we comply with their quality and professional accreditation standards. We also work as sub-contractors for Wren to create beautiful and functional modern kitchens.

Asbestos Awareness

Properties built before 2000 are likely to have originally contained the potentially hazardous material, asbestos, found in anything from ceiling artex plaster coats to soil and vent pipes. Before starting an extensive renovation project it is often mandatory (and in any case best practice) to perform an asbestos survey to identify potentially hazardous materials in your property that may get disturbed or damaged. This helps to preserve the welfare of both the construction workforce and the inhabitants of the property. It is estimated that around 5,000 people die each year in the UK from asbestos-related diseases.

Public Liability and Employer Insurance

Construction projects are hazardous by nature. For this reason, protection for the public, the home owner and any subcontractors is in place.

We are covered by a £2 million public liability and £10m Employer's liability insurance policy.
